No one can replace you

A person came to a teacher and requested him to let him know the value of life. The  teacher gave him a stone and asked him to confirm its market value, but there is a condition, you will not sell it.
He went to a vegetable vendor on the street and the vendor agreed to exchange the shining stone with a large bag of potatoes, but he refused to sell it as he was asked to do so by the teacher.
He went to a jewelry store to confirm the market value of the stone, to his surprise the jeweler valued the same shining stone with a price of 50 Lakhs and insisted him to sell those. He didn't sold it.
He now went to a diamond merchant to know the market value of the stone. The merchant was surprised and kept asking him about the source of the stone, he said that this is the precious ruby stone. After saying that he kept it on a red cloth, bowed down and later started circumambulating around that.
The  person came to the teacher, shared all his experiences with him and requested him to answer his question. To which he replied as

You went to a orange seller, he valued the stone = 12 0ranges
The vegetable vendor, valued =  A large bag of potatoes
Jeweler valued it as 50 Lakhs
Diamond merchant said it is - Precious

Similar is your human value. Undoubtedly you are a diamond but the person who is evaluating you will evaluate you depending upon his position, information, status and motive. Do not worry, you will get someone who will value you appropriately.

Respect yourself,
you too are unique,
no one can replace you.

The New Found Self-Confidence

There was a business executive who was deep in debt and could see no way out. Creditors were closing in on him. Suppliers were demanding payment. He sat on the park bench, head in hands, wondering if anything could save his company from bankruptcy. Suddenly an old man appeared before him. ”I can see that something is troubling you,” he said. After listening to the executive’s woes, the old man said, “I believe I can help you.” He asked the man his name, wrote out a check, and pushed it into his hand saying, “Take this
money. Meet me here exactly one year from today, and you can pay me back at that time.”

The business executive saw in his hand a check for $500,000, signed by John D. Rockefeller, then one of the richest men in the world! “I can erase my money worries in an instant!” he realized. But instead, the executive decided to put the uncashed check in his safe. Just knowing it was there might give him the strength to work out a way to save his business, he thought. With renewed optimism, he negotiated better deals and extended terms of payment. He closed several big sales. Within a few months, he was out of debt and making money once again.
Exactly one year later, he returned to the park with the uncashed check. At the agreed-upon
time, the old man appeared. But just as the executive was about to hand back the check and
share his success story, a nurse came running up and grabbed the old man. “I’m so glad I caught him!” she cried. “I hope he hasn't been bothering you. He’s always escaping from the rest home and telling people he’s John D. Rockefeller.” And she led the old man away by the arm.
The astonished executive just stood there, stunned. All year long he’d been wheeling and
dealing, buying and selling, convinced he had half a million dollars behind him.
Suddenly, he realized that it wasn't the money, real or imagined, that had turned his life around.
It was his new found self-confidence that gave him the power to achieve anything he went after.

Enjoy your life at every moment

Once a fisherman was sitting near seashore, under the shadow of a tree smoking his beedi. Suddenly a rich businessman passing by approached him and enquired as to why he was sitting under a tree smoking and not working. To this the poor fisherman replied that he had caught enough fishes for the day.

Hearing this the rich man got angry and said: Why don’t you catch more fishes instead of sitting in shadow wasting your time?

Fisherman asked: What would I do by catching more fishes?

Businessman: You could catch more fishes, sell them and earn more money, and buy a bigger boat.

Fisherman: What would I do then?

Businessman: You could go fishing in deep waters and catch even more fishes and earn even more money.

Fisherman: What would I do then?

Businessman: You could buy many boats and employ many people to work for you and earn even more money.

Fisherman: What would I do then?

Businessman: You could become a rich businessman like me.
Fisherman: What would I do then?

Businessman: You could then enjoy your life peacefully.

Fisherman: Isn’t that what I am doing now?

Moral – You don’t need to wait for tomorrow to be happy and enjoy your life. You don’t even need to be more rich, more powerful to enjoy life. LIFE is at this moment, enjoy it fully.
As some great men have said “My riches consist not in extent of my possessions but in the fewness of my wants”.

It's Inspiring

I was in an audience listening to a motivational guru. The speaker whipped out his wallet and pulled out a five hundred rupee note. Holding it up, he asked, “Who wants this five hundred rupee note?”

Lots of hands went up. Including mine. A slow chorus began to build as people began to shout “Me!” “Me!”I began to wonder who the lucky one would be who the speaker would choose. And I also secretly wondered – and I am sure others did too - why he would simply give away five hundred rupees.

Even as the shouts of “I want it” grew louder, I noticed a young woman running down the aisle. She ran up onto the stage, went up to the speaker, and grabbed the five hundred rupee note from his hand. “Well done, young lady,” said the speaker into

Let go off your Stress

A psychologist walked around a room while teaching stress management to an audience. As she raised a glass of water, everyone expected they’d be asked the “half empty or half full” question. Instead, with a smile on her face, she inquired: “How heavy is this glass of water?”
She replied, “The absolute weight doesn’t matter. It depends on how long I hold it. If I hold it for a minute, it’s not a problem. If I hold it for an hour, I’ll have an ache in my arm. If I hold it for a day, my arm will feel numb and paralyzed. In each case, the weight of the glass doesn’t change, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it becomes.”
She continued, “The stresses and worries in life are like that glass of water. Think about them for a while and nothing happens. Think about them a bit longer and they begin to hurt. And if you think about them all day long, you will feel paralyzed – incapable of doing anything.”
It’s important to remember to let go of your stresses. As early in the evening as you can, put all your burdens down. Don’t carry them through the evening and into the night. Remember to put the glass down!

The important things in life

A philosophy professor stood before his class with some items on the table in front of him. When the class began, wordlessly he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with rocks, about 2 inches in diameter.
He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.
So the professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly.                                                                                                      The pebbles, of course, rolled into the open areas between the rocks.

He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.
The professor picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else.
He then asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous “Yes.”
“Now,” said the professor, “I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The rocks are the important things – your family, your partner, your health, your children – things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full.

The pebbles are the other things that matter – like your job, your house, your car.
The sand is everything else. The small stuff.”

“If you put the sand into the jar first,” he continued “there is no room for the pebbles or the rocks. The same goes for your life.

If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you. Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play with your children. Take your partner out dancing. There will always be time to go to work, clean the house, give a dinner party and fix the disposal.
Take care of the rocks first – the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.”

A Marriage Story

My husband is an Engineer by profession, I love him for his steady nature, and I love the warm feeling when I lean against his broad shoulders.

Three years of courtship and now, two years into marriage, I would have to admit, that I am getting tired of it. The reasons of me loving him before, has now transformed into the cause of all my restlessness.

I am a sentimental woman and extremely sensitive when it comes to a relationship and my feelings, I yearn for the romantic moments, like a little girl yearning for candy. My husband, is my complete opposite, his lack of sensitivity, and the inability of bringing romantic moments into our marriage has disheartened me about love.

One day, I finally decided to tell him my decision, that I wanted a divorce.

Logical Thinking

Many years ago in a small Indian village, a farmer had the misfortune of owing a large sum of money to a village moneylender.

The Moneylender, who was old and ugly, fancied the farmer's beautiful Daughter. So he proposed a bargain.

He said he would forgo the farmer's debt if he could marry his Daughter. Both the farmer and his daughter were horrified by the Proposal.

So the cunning money-lender suggested that they let Providence decide the matter.

He told them that he would put a black Pebble and a white pebble into an empty money bag. Then the girl would have to pick one pebble from the bag.

- If she picked the black pebble, she would become his wife and her father's debt would be forgiven.

I was at the sixth floor of my hostel...........

I was at the sixth floor of my hostel.
It was almost midnight. By this time, most of the people might not be sleeping. But majority of them might be trying hard to sleep. We get up at 5 in the morning and sleep at 10 in the night. And, the rest of our lives just revolve around EAMCET, IIT and BITS. It’s been one year since I came to this place and I need to be here for another year. May be, I need to stay here for longer duration because I’d already failed in two subjects and I wasn’t sure whether I’d pass all the subjects in the second year. I was sure that I wouldn’t be in Engineering and that reason was enough for me to end my life. That was why I was at the terrace of my hostel.
One step ahead will end my life. How simple is Death!! But it takes lot of courage for that one simple step. After struggling hard for about 5-10 minutes, I finally decided to step ahead. And like hell lot of other stories, someone stopped me from doing it. When I looked back, I could see an old man
